Konoye Calls Cabinet To Discuss Mediation Issue

TOKYO, Mar. 5 (Reuter).-Prince Koneye, the Japanese Premier, has decided to call an urgent Cabinet meeting on March 6 as the French have again failed to hand in their reply to the Japanese compromise formula for settlement of the Franco-Thai dispute, says an official Japaniese report.

LONDON, Mar. 5 (Reuter)The King and Queen paid n eight-hour visit to Glasgow to-day and received a tremendous welcome.

BATAVIA, Mar. G (Reuter).-For the first me In her history, the Netherlands East Indies has begun registering women for compulsory services.

According to the Batavia radio, registration is compulsory for all Dutch subjects, whether female European or native, aged 18 to 55, having a primary schooling.

The idea is to prepare wemmen for tasks to which they are suited and to which they may be allotted in an
