Matsuoka Declares Japanese Coolies

View on Racial Discrimination Demand

TOKYO, Feb. 17 (Donei).—Japan's adherence to the prin- ciple of racial equality was re-affirmed by the Foreign Minister Mr Yosuke Matsuoka, at the Diet to-day.

Concurring with the views of the interpellation by Mr Fukuzo Nakayama, former member of the defunct Minselto Party, Mr Matsuoka stated. “Japan must constantly deal with equality towarda all races without the slightest discrimination towards any.

"I belleve that this constitutes im- portant elements in the spirit of 'IInkko Ichiu. Since we seem to he born with the same racial discrimina- tion I believe we must discard it su us to provide ar example," Foreign Minister stated.
