These and many other matters are being examined by various depart- ments of state under the direction of Mr Arthur Greenwood, Minister without Portfolio, who is specially charged with the examination of these problema.
The intention behind them is to reach the largest measure of common agreement on urgent matters that have to be dealt with so that they can be put into force without delay at the end of the war and form a solid foundation upon which, after discussion and by a vote of the peo ple, a new government will be put into office to carry out the programme of reconstruction which the majority of the country desires.
