One Time Ogpu Chief Found Dead In U.S.A.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 (Reuter). --- General Krivitsky, stated to have once been Secret Police Chief in Soviet Russia, has been found shot dead, according to Louis Waldman, un attorney.

The General is said to have of been going under the name Samuel Ginsberg. Waldman said that he obtained the in- formation from detectives, who told him that Krivitsky shot himself, but the attorney did not believe this.

Krivitsky, he said, flad been co- operating with the United States Federation Investigation Bureau. He came to the United States several years ago and later visited England, but returned to America last Octaver. Krivilaky gave evidence on October 10, 1930, before the Congressiono】 Committee on un-Americans activities. He said that he broke with because he refused to take an active part in the purge of the Communist Party in 1930 and 1937.
