A coroner's jury decided at Southampton recently that a Royal Navi Reserve commwinder almed a revolver at his wife ns a threat, and then, finding he had shot her by mistake, shot him. self through remorse.

They returned a verdict of manslaughter and suicide at the Inquest in Commander Wilfred Stanfield, aged 47, and Mrs Louise Stanfield, aged 43, who were shot at their home in Wilton-cres- cent, Southampton.
