An impression of the original "Hong Kong Dispensary intended solely as a Dispensary for the Services stationed in Hong Kong and a name still associated with the retail and dispensing section of the Company's business.

"The Hong Kong Dispen- sary" being established in a matshed at Possession Point, by a Naval Surgeon, Dr. F. H. Young, within a few months of the occupation of the island, solely as a Dispensary for the Services.

From the year 1858-the date of arrival of the new proprietor, Dr. A. S. Watson, to whom the Company owes its name through successive stages of development, the Company has steadily expanded its activities and, in addition to occupying the premier position, through the years, in the manufacture of high-class Aerated Waters in the Far East, it has through- out its history maintained an unrivalled reputation for the excellence of its various Watson's Chinese Medicinal' Proprietary Medicines, also as the main depot for Drugs and Pharmaceutical requirements of the highest quality only.
