NEW BOMBER TYPES

CROSS ATLANTIC

LONDON, Jan. 13 (Reuter).—The recent extension of the R.A.F. offensive to regular daylight as well as night bombard- ments lends additional interest to the news that four different kinds of United States bombers for the R.A.E. are being flown across the Atlantic.

A large number of certain types have arrived and a con- tinuous stream will be maintain- ed in future.

The four types are the Lockheed Hudson long-range reconnaissance bomber for the Coastal Command: the Boeing B17 four-engine bomber, populorly called the "lying fortress": the Consolidated two-engine flying- boat; and the Lockheed Vega Ven- tura bomber.
