The reflection of lights burn- ing over the altar-of-the-Church- of the Holy Spirit, Exeter, was seen through side windows by a policeman.

He smashed the dour panels and put out the lights,

Beatrice Brown, of Sidwell-street. Exeter, appeared in court accused of the offence.

On her behalf it was slated that the lights must have been switched the on by someone who entered

church with felonious intent,

The case was dismissed, the mugis- trate saying it was for the police to consider whether all the members of the church should be summoned.
