RARE FOSSIL IS DISCOVERED

Skeleton of Uintatherium

· WASHINGTON, Dec, 8 (UP)-Prize fossil find of the senson, a nearly complete skeleton of the elephant-sized six-horned beast known as Uintatherium, which dominated the primitive forests about 30 million years ago, has been dug up in southern Wyoming by Dr. Charles L. Gazin, Smithsonian Institution palcontologist.

Bones of this strange giant mammial are common enough, but a skeleton with only a few parts missing is one of the great- est of scientific rarities. Dr. Gazin's find Incks only one hind leg, part of a foreles, and the neck vertebrae.

Most of those on board had been sent off in lifeboats or on rafts, but some of the boats had been smashed by the torpedo's explosion, and there was no room left for this petty-officer and about thirty other officers and men.

IN this war nations may remain neutral; but the people of those nations do not, said Miss Dorothy Thompson, the American publicist, in a talk which was recorded in London and broadcast. "You, fighting there on the British Isles, are fighting not only for the security of all free men, but for all our dreams of a better future," she said.

New Airway

Among Good Now the Nights

Neighbours

By LUIS J. ZALAMEA United Pross Staff Correspondent

NEW YORK, Dec. 8 (UP).— The creation of a "good neigh- bour skyway" to foster closer hemisphoric relations is being planned by the Inter-American Escadrille an organisation de- voted to promoting the ideals of continental solidarity using avia- tion as a medium.

The Escadrille has a twofold plan to bring the Americas to closer understanding and friend- ship:

Firstly, by bringing together, In-an- International organisation, the thou- sands of private fliers in the United States and the American republics, and by fostering the instrucion of new pilots; and Secondly, y

by providing an inter- national afrlane to be known as the "Good Neighbour Skyway."

It is hoped that the skywny will set in motion an ever-increasing stream of private airmen who will help materially to "shrinit the hemis- here into a community of neigh- Jours." This stream will be swelled ay the many pilots now being trained In American colleges and in Latin America.
