(By "SCRAMBLER")
IN A THRILLING encounter bofore a record crowd for a local league gamo at Caroline Hill yesterday, Eastern and Sing Tao played a drawn game of two goals all, each scoring in each half of the game. It was a match whore the defences were most to the fore, and Eastern had a lot to be thankful for; for if their rearguard had not come up to expectation towards the end of the game, Sing Tao would have snatched a last minuta victory.
The game was fast and furious right from the start. Eastern got off to an early goal, for right after Cheung Wing-choi made two spectacular saves in quick succes- sion, one from a free kick taken by Hsu King-seng and the other from Hau Ching-tau from close quarter, Lee Tin-sang miskicked to allow V. K. Hyui to follow up to net from close in. Less than three minutes later Eastern increased their lead for from a foul against Lee Tin- sang, Hsu King-seng took the kick just outside the area for Hau Ching-tau to push the ball into the net from close
range.
