Culve Street Fatrile 'lace Canton Cawnpore Cebu You may already know that with Colombo the recent terrific air battles the South Const, we have had to faiphong temporarily abandon our Hospital in tankow Sussex. At first we hoped that by moving convalescent and semi-con- valescent cases to a safer area, it might still be possible to retain our hospital, with all its specialised equipment, for seriously wounded men undergoing treatment. With the Intensification of the air attacks this has become impossible and all our newly blinded men-rome of them received their injuries on the shores at Dunkirk and others under circumstances of equal bravery-are being nursed back to health and learning the first lessons in conquer- ing blindness at an hotel in the west country.

CORRESPONDENCE
Sir, Our sailors are spending a great deal more time afloat now than they did in the days of peace, and the problem of the right use of leisure is ever before us. Many, of them have joined up for the dura- tion, and have been drawn from various backgrounds and occupa- tons, and at the moment are doing their duty on this China Staiton.
I am constantly belust asked for current periodicals, magazines and books, and which I am unable to supply, but I am sure
that many
of the residents of Hongkong would help in this matter if you will allow this appeal to be made through your newspaper.
Any gifts of either new or old literature will be most gratefully. acknowledged.
