Sand Greens Presented No Obstacles: Match To Be Duplicated
(By "Birdie")
BRILLIANT WEATHER at Shoungshiu on Sunday contributed to make the Country Club- Kowloon golf match one of the most pleasant functions at the New Territorios' Club. The sand greens prosented little difficulty to the Kowloon players, in fact, they wore not quite as fast as was anticipated.
It was altogether a genial day, and the score, as was men- tioned at the end of the day, was of no consequerice. There were only seven of the 18 matches in which byes were played, and the Country Club won three of those seven..
The complete scores were:
A. W. Ramsey beat A. J. Dennis 4 and 3
A. A. Lopes beat W. V. Ahern 3 and 4
R. E. Lee lost to E. F. Fincher 5 and 3
F. E. A. Remedios and R. K. Collings all square

It was a hot day and the course was very dry. The application of water to the greens, however, had made them ccrmparatively soft and holding. There were several birdies,

He said that export trade was al- have|ways of the greatest value to brec- ders, and Government's polley was to continue the export trade.

Two Bridge players can use the DUO-BRIDGE Board anywhere and at any time; there is no need to go out to the Club on these black nights.
You will enjoy it in any situation, because it is the very best Bridge game for two people yet invented.
Let us admit at once that there are certain technical difficulties which cannot be overcome. We are well aware of them but they do not affect the character of the game in any way. Nolther player sees more than his own hand while bidding and only his own hand and Dummy during play. It is obvious that peculiar bidding, psychics 'and wild Jump-overbids are no use. in such a game, Indeed the hands have been very carefully slected.

Navy pressed at the start and McGill made several strong dashes but. he was well marked. Beattie, who played a good game in the pack, broke through with the ball at his toe but Skipworth, opposing full back, gathered and linked up with his backs. He passed on to Richards when tackled. Bowden then made a dash down field and looked like scoring until well grassed.
Giblin then gained territory by cutting through neatly, but
