SPECIAL TO THE "TELEGRAPH”
LONDON, NOV. 28 (UP).—A VIVID DESCRIPTION OF THE SEA AND AIR BATTLE BETWEEN BRITISH AND ITALIAN FORCES ON WEDNESDAY - HAS BEEN RELEASED BY ADMIRALTY, AND IT REVEALS THAT AIR- CRAFT FROM THE ARK ROYAL CARRIED OUT À TORPEDO ATTACK ON ITALIAN BATTLESHIPS AND THAT ONE TORPEDO WAS SEEN TO HIT A BATTLESHIP OF THE NEW, POWERFUL LITTORIO CLASS.
Another force of Swordfish planes attacked an enemy unit consisting of three 8-in. gun cruisors. One torpedo hit was almost certainly obtained on the rear of the ship, which was a 10,000-tonner of the Belzane class. She was observed to reduce speed immediately after the attack. Another force dive-bombed the six-in. gun cruiser Condottieri.
British reconnaissance flights showed that one Italian cruiser, believed to be of the 8-in. gun type, was seriously afire aft following a clash with British warships. One destroyer of the Grogale class was seen to be down by the stern and listing heavily, while a second destroyer listing slightly and losing way.

The Ministry of Food to-day announced the reduction of milk supplies to householders during the winter shortago al- though full supplies will be maintained in hospitals, for mothers with children and invalids.
Lord Woolton indicated that drastic steps have been made necessary by a shortage of refrigeration capacity, presumably due to the sinking of re- frigeration tonnage./
· It will be recalled that Mr. Arthur Greenwood revealed that British shipping losses have reached the peak of the dark daya in April 1017.
