Sir-Wo were concerned to see a report emanating from the Central News Agency published recently in the Press, to the effect that all the refugee camps in Canton had been forcibly closed by the Japanese' au- thorities with the result that upwards of 8,000 refugees had been thrown on the streets.
We wish it to be clearly understood that the above repart is totally in- correct in so far as the refugee work under the auspices of the Canton International Red Cross and the Canton Refugee Areas Committee is concerned,

NEW CHAPEL OPENED IN KOWLOON TONG
Last evening, Pastor Lam Tat-wing, of Wuchow, Kwangel, was the speaker at the opening meeting of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Chapel, 25, Cumberland Hload, Kow- loon Tong. The formal opening is to take place on Sunday next, when a Dedicatory Service will be conducted at 10 o'clock, the Rev. John Bechtel oficiating.
The Christian and Missionary Alliance, of which the newly-opened Chapel is the Hongkong Branch, is an American Mission, with headquarters
at New York City. There are more than 600 missionaries connected with the Mission, which has stations in many parts of the world.

N.Y.K. Ships To Omit Hongkong-
Shanghai, Nov. 27. The N.V.K. announced to-day that from December 12 their ships sailing between Shanghai and Manila would omit Hongkong, but would call at the British port on the return journey. The reason is to permit Italian and travel to German passengers to Manila without the possibility of detention when the ships are in Hongkong-United Press.
