BRITAIN SPENDS

A QUIET NIGHT

First Since September

Special to the "Telegraph”. LONDON, Nov. 26 (UP)—For the first time in 80 nights- since September 7-no bombs were dropped on Britain from dusk to midnight. *-

The only air activity throughout the country were a few raiders which passed over a west England town which they had tried to blitzkrieg last Sunday evening, but nothing was dropped.

Londoners were puzzled as the absence up to midnight of the sirens, for the second mo aince the blitzkrieg began, but did not change their shelter habits, and there was but little extra traffic on the streets.

Thousands of persons were sleep- ing soundly in the subways unaware of the fact that it was a warningless night because they are often unable to hear the din of the anti-aircraft guns, the bombs and the plones.

The Athens afternoon papers announced that the Italians have left the Ostroritza mountain, west of Koritza and are forming a new line in the Tommi mountains. These mountains constitute the main protection for the Italian stronghold at Berati.

The noon-time Greek papers reported from the front that an Italian gencral has committed suicide. It is believed in Athens, though not confirmed, that it is General Visconti Brassi, who calculated that 200,000 men were sufficient to carry out the blitzkrieg against Greece.

A London report says that | according to the Athens cor- respondent of the "Exchange Telegraph," the latest reports from the front show that the Italians are now evacuating El Bassan and are also retreating from Erseka towards Berat, and from Linskoviki and Kakavin towards Delvino,

The same correspondent de clared that the Italians evacunt- ed Argyroenstro on Sunday and that Greek advance guards this morning were but a few miles from the aerodrome.

THEY WON'T BOMB BRITAIN AGAIN

These accompanying pictures give some impression of the type of men who are dally ravaging the Britlah countryside with their high explosive and incendiary bombs, and, when opportunity, offers itself, swoop down to machine-gun civilians in the streets and lanca. These are but a few of the men who have dropped their last bombs on England; forced down in aerial combat with British fighter planes, they have managed to escape death, only to become captives, Judging from the expression of one of the prisoners, he's not a bit sorry his Luftwafing days
