Hanol, Nov. 12, Preparations for the inauguration of a direct shipping service between Maceo and Saigon were completed Jast month and the first French ship to leave left Saigon on November 5. It is expected to reach Macao to- morrow.

TERRORISM OUTBURST

Shooting Outrages In Shanghai

Shanghal, Nov. 12. Another outburst of terrorism to- day-merked Sun Yat-sen's birthday anniversary.

Mystery surrounds the shooting in Hengkew of a Japanese Army official. | He was badly wounded, allegedly by another Japanese who escaped. Hongkow was Immediately placed under virtual martial law and Ja- paneso Army and Navy patrols car- ried out strict searches aided by the police. All bridges leading from Hungkew were closed.

A second outrage occurred in the afternoon outside a Chinese hotel in the International Settlement when a Formosan, Ling Ling, a member of a wealthy business family. and head of the Japanese sponsored Chinese Labour Union, was shot dead by gun- men. The assassins escaped. The motive 19 believed to be political.— Reuter.
