The stamina and endurance contest over 13⁄4 miles was won by Mrs. A. E. Grasett's Sapper, ably ridden by Mr. W. H. S. Davis, in a ocmmon canter and it was the chestnut's first classic race of the season.

Far View, sister of Sapper, who annexed the Rooty-U Derby and the Australian Ponles Champions at the big meeting, put up a very poor show by running unplaced, and it was undoubtedly

Splendid Response For Republic Handicap:
Three Sections
'A NICE PROGRAMME of six events has been framed by the Macao Club for their November meeting to be held at Areia Preta on Sunday. Very good response has been received with 33 nominations for the Republic Handicap which has been divided into three sections at the discretion of the handicapper.
I am, however, afraid that the port regulations coupled with the provision of cholera certificate will preclude many Įracegoers from making the excursion trip.
It is rumoured that the veteran jockey Bob Charles
will be seen in action provided, Cricket of course, he will be able to take off some of his superfluous fat.
A special dollar sweep of 50,000 tickets is being conducted on the Tongkawan Handicap confined China ponies "Y" class and the run is over nine furlongs.

The latter cancellation was made necessary following the evacuation of all eight competitors who had qualified during the preceding six months.
In lieu of the Cup, Mrs. Shewan had scat a cheque for $100 to the the "S. C. M. Post" Bomber Fund and "H. K. Telegraph," which sum was augmented by a similar amount from the Ladies Section.
