MALTA AND ABYSSINIA AIR ATTACKS REPORTED

CAIRO, Nev. 3-(Reuter).—Two formations of enemy bombers, escorted by fighter planes. which raided Malta on Saturday were engaged by R.A.F. fighters with the result that one enemy fighter was shot down, another was destroyed by anti-aircraft fire and two other enemy fighters were damaged by R.A.F. fighters.

The raiders caused Httle damage and no casualties. It is believed that a third aircraft was shot down but this is unconfirmed.

An attack was made by R.A.F. | aircraft on enemy transport moving along the Metemima- Gondar (Abyssinia) road and four direct hits were registered on the transport.
