ARMY BOXING TOURNEYS SOON

(By "Jake")

WITH THE APPROACH of the Army Boxing Tournaments, which are due to begin shortly, Service boxers are not only working themselves into a condition of perfect fitness, but also into state_of...anxious enthusiasm. I need not dwell upon the popularity of these contests with both Military and civilian sportsmen, for the Press of Hongkong has often, made mention of the fact.

In the person of Pte, Corrigan, of the Royal Scots, is a confident boxer who is ready to fare out- sida Military circles and don gloves as challenger to any ban- tamweight in the three Services. He is claimed bantamweight champion in the Colony, insofar na the Army is concerned, and after an absence of about a year he is ready again to enter the ring..

This gesture is a sporting one us Corrigan is fully aware of the op- position he will meet outside, but his ring prowess will stand him in good stead and make him a formidable apponent for anyone,
