Shanghai, Oct. 3.

The Shanghai Voluntary War Con- tribution Fund has telegraphed further £10,000 to London as a con- tribution towards the British effort. The sum will be used for the pur- chase of planes. The contribution is for September, the alm of the con- tributors being to send a similar amount each month.

The Voluntary War Contribution Fund at Hankow received £201 dur- ing September. This brings the total amount contributed to date to

£1,400 and US.$205.

Since

the total Britiais population

of this town has been estimated at not more than 300, including women and children, this resuit may be re- garded as reasonably satisfactory.
