Flying Boat Directs Rescue Of Twenty Men In Lifeboat

WHILE FLYING 150 miles from land the Captain of an R.A.F. Sunderland flying boat saw a white speck on the water. He found it was a small lifeboat with a white jib hoisted. Twenty men were in the boat, which the Sunderland circled while a man in the stern stood up and tried to signal a message. The Sunderland sent out wire- lest messaget, at first with no result.
