A RECORD CROWD should be present at the European Y.M.C.A., Kowloon, on Saturday when the season's biggest gala-European "Y" v. Lai Tsun v. Chung Sing v. V.R.C.-will be held. From the 50 yards free-style to the 440 free-style, in the back-stroke and breast-stroke events, and in the relays and medley relays there will be keen competition from start to finish.
Perhaps, in the 440 free-style will be seen the keenest competition of all. Should the four best of these Clubs turn out-W., Lawrence (V.R.C.), Chan Chun-nam (Lai Tsun), Ng Nin (Chung Sing) and G. T. May ("Y")-there would be a race for which alone it would be worth while making an effort to get in and see.
Even with only three of them. Lee in the free-style events. it will still be a great race. The Since, then, however, he has im- new threat, of course, is Ng proved greatly. Nin. who is fresh from his
