Interest To Foster Empire Elevens And Services Teams Active

STRUGGLING ALONG more for the sake of the game than anything else, for day-time matches anywhere in England at the moment aro more or less a financial "flop”, county cricketers have, where county representative teams are nil, bandod themselves into teams of other names andį are doing great work to maintain the country's in- terost in its second greatest national game.

In this respect, the London Counties XI, which, as the name implies, has been made up of players from the coun- ties surrounding London, is doing specially well. Reports of their matches appear in the Home papers as regularly as would those of a prace-time programme.

Active .on

slightly only a lesser scale are British Empire The XI's and Services teams. Royal Air Forec, particularly, in which Walter Hammond is now a Captain, futures more now in "big" cricket news than it ever did before,
