WHEN IT RAINS so hard that oven swim- ming is out of the question, then there is some- thing to complain about. A contemporary con- tributor a few weeks ago laid the charge that the greatest moan was coming from golfers. I should reckon that even the farmors are now complain- ing—and so would anyone elsewhere if more than eight feet of rain were dumped on them, and most of those eight feet suddenly, for it seems that most of it has fallen during the past month or so.
I might add that at the moment one can almost swim on any bowling green, tennis court or golf course in the Colony.

Accommodation Arrangements
At Stables
The. Stewards of the Ifongkong Jockey Club have decided to build permanent Stables on "C" Bench, and, whist these are under con struction, no stalls will be avails- blo there. Consequently, with the arrival of the new Australian Subscription ponles and the Special Australian ponies, there will be a temporary shortage of accotumodation at the Stables.
To overcome this, the Stewards have decided that all "D" and "E" class ponies, as well as those used
stulls at the
hacks, are to be slabled in the Race Course for the Une being.
Owners of such ponies will op. preciate the position and co-operate with the Stewards in this matter.
