Alves And Ribeiro Enter Third Round

Four mare matches in the Second Round at the Open Pairs Lawn Bowls Champion were decided yesterday, the three matches at Happy Valley providing very close finishes.

IL. A. Alves and F. V. V. Ribeiro, holdern, won through to the Third Round at the expense of J. S. Riddell and J. C. Aitken whom they beat 20-21 after a ding-dong struggle. The Portuguese pair were very solid throughout and unruffled when being led 18-10 on the 17th end. Water Polo Victory For Chung Sing

Chung Sing Bathing Club's waterpolo team had their pound of flesh, and more, when they trounced Eastern by five goals to one, after being on level terms at the end of the first half; in a return match at Kennedy Town yesterday evening.

Eastern was the faster team, but were overshadowed in positioning, for which Chung Sing excelled.

Eastern attacked within the first] few minutes, but Che Chok-wan was unsuccessful, The ball was quickly transferred to the Eastern area by Ng Nin, who outswam Shek Kam-pul to beat Woo Cho-kin with a clever shot bouncing the ball twice before, scoring.
