THE MORE RIGID PROGRAMME of training for the Hongkong Volunteers, of which i, as one of the Corps, fully approve, will probably have its effect on the local sports compotitions now in bo- ing. The rain over the past few wooks has dono nothing to improve the progress of either the lawn bowls tournament or the tonnis league, and because of this further postponements are de- finitely to be avoided.

·(Router).—The Scottish Football League have an- nounced that all competi tions have been suspended until the annual meeting in 1941. But it is official- ly stated that there is nothing to prevent a body of Clubs getting, together and forming a competition of their own.
