Scraps Of Material

DON'T throw away the scraps ot material left over from your sowing for you are sure to be able to u them to advantage.

It is a good plan to keep various Largo dress corflers in your "pleco" drawer, labelling them cretonne, allic, cotton, woollen and so on outside. Then it is an easy matter to keep the pieces ready for use.

and is inexpensive. Ingredients; 1lb. appies, 30%. Bugar, 12 small. spongecakes, joz, gelatine, a little

cream.

Stow apples and sugar with '2 tablespoonfuls of water and a strip. of lemon rind and pass through a slovc. Add the gelatine dissolved in a little of the apple fulce to the pulp.

Line a mould with the sponge- cakes and put a layer of apongo on the bottom.. Pour in the appic mixture and put the charlotte

· Put in a layer of sliced appics, and sprinkle with sultanas. Continue in layers until basin to almost full. Add 2 tablespoonfuls of honey dis- solved in half a cupful of warm water, and a strip of lemon rind. Cover with a lid of crust, tie on a scalded floured cloth and boil for two hours.
