LONDON, May. 22 (Router).---An' encouraging response to the appeal for a loen defence volunteer force was officially mentioned 10-day when the House of Commons held a debate on the new organisation.

The feature of the debate was a speech given by Mr. Leslie Hore Beilsha.

LONDON, May 22 (Reuter). -Sir John Anderson moved the |second reading of the Tronchery Bill in the House of Commons to-day,

The main provision of the Bill provides the death penalty in certain grave cases of caplonage or sabatage performed with Intent to help the enemy.

Sir John explained that the Bill was designed to regularise the legal position and to All some possible loopholes in the existing emergency legislation.

One Important point was that it was thought desirable to make provision to enable enemy allens to be tried in suitable cases by court martials.
