Ah, well... heat waves (time off to walk up and down the floor # bit,)
The history of heat waver goes very far back and traces of mum- mified heat waves have been found in Egyptian tombs, No. That's no good.
It has been noticed that the incl- dence of heat waves or perinds of intense heat occur mostly during the summer equinox (now we're eft) in nurhern_latitudes.
In the temperate zone, heat waves do not occur. That's why people. remain temperate in those zones.
Some people, of course, own their own zones. (If you say "own their own zones" two hundred times, you go sound steep.. Try it!)
They can turn a temperate zone intemperate by carrying a bottle on the hip-or by having a well-

A prediction that "1940 will bring purges in Germany, and that Von Ribbentrop, the Foreign Minister, will be one of the 'casualties," is made by Dorothy Thompson in the New York Herald Tribune.
She also forecasts that the "No- tional Socialist regimo will encounter the strongest opposition from tho women and farmers during 1040."
Dealing with the Allies' control of the seas, the Now York Times writes: "There are good technical, reasons for Germany will doubling whether accomplish anything with the 150, ton submarinea which she is about to bulld.
