OPERATING FROM "the" salient which they have formed on the left bank of the. Meuse, which they suc ceeding in crossing after the fall of Sedan, the Germāņu have now suc. eceded in breaking through the French lines at three points between Sedan and the Luxembourg frontler. The break through was effected by heavy mechanised unlis, says, “Reu» ter."
After effecting a bridgehead across the Meuse River near Bedan the Germans lost no time in bringing “Bundreds or Nevvy tanks across the river by pontoon bridges which they quickly erected.
Tho tanks which broko through the French lines immediately spread out fanwise in all directions, carising Central mcles which fasted throughout the day behind the front lines.

A French tanks counter-attacked, French Infantry succeeded in closing the breach in the front line trenclus after German mechanised units had disappeared to the rear.
