HAS SIMULTANEOUSLY INVADED THE NETHERLANDS, AND LUXEMBOURG.
The position regarding Belgium is obscure but at 4 p.m. H.K. time to-day a "Domei" message from Washington de- clared that a state of war existed between Belgium and Germany.
THE WASHINGTON REPORT REGARding the INVASION OF LUXEMBOURG QUOTES AN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE.
First reports of the German invasion of the Netherlands, were ex- clusively published in the Hongkong “Telegraph " this morning at 11 o'clock, two and quarter hours after German planes appeared over Amsterdam,
These reports, which were received through “United Press," were not confirmed by any other agency until 4 · p.m.
The invasion is apparently nation - wide, and is apparently being carried out by means of transport planes.
First intimation that something was amiss came shortly before midnight when the Netherlands Government imposed a strict censorship on all communications and closed the locks of canals around Amsterdam. BRIEF STORY OF INVASION
An overhead view of Schiphol, the great acrodrome outside. Amsterdam which was bombed by German planes this morning, and according to latest report wrecked. Big fires are said to have broken out at the 'drome following the Nazi rald. ?-

Amsterdam's anti-aircraft guns have again gone into action. Intense anti-aircraft fire is reported from the entire countryside. Huge squadrons of big planes are crossing to and fro over the entire country. PARACHUTE LANDINGS

NAZIS RETREAT FROM NARVIK
By PETER RHODES
(UNITED PRESS. STAFF CORRESPONDENT) KIRUNA, Norwegian Border, May 9 (UP).—The German forces east of Narvik are retreating toward the Swedish frontier.
Only nine miles separate two Allied and Norwegian columns, which are driving down the mountains on Bjordfjuell, where the Narvik railway to the Swedish iron ore mines in Kiruna cuts through the mountains into Sweden.
Should these two forces close across the valley through which the vital railway passes, the German garrison in Narvik wi!!| be completely isolated, and final assault on the port can be expected to follow at once.
