AND ITS ECONOMY

Broadcasting from the British

Broadcasting Corp. in January, this great Food Authority said:

"There is a vitamin called B, which is believed to be of special value in keeping the digestive tract and nervous system healthy. Some food products are advertised and sold at a high price because they are rich in B,.

"Well, there is more of this vitamin in oatmeal than in almost any other common food.

"Porridge and milk are better for you thanbarou and eggs. Theyarefarcheaper."

And here's why delicious QUAKER OATS is so good for you:

"VITAMIN B, is absolutely essential to healthy life; without it, you develop head- aches, irritability,'nerviaess, lose weight and strength.

"Quaker Oats is a rich and economical source of Thiamin (Vitamin B1)-vital to our exist

"Quaker Oats contains every vital health element. It is doubly nourishing, for in addition to Vitamin B; it is also rich in mus- cle-building protein, with valu- able phosphorus and iron.

"Quaker Oats is a delicious creamy breakfast food that every- one can buy. There's nothing as cheap so good, nothing as good so cheap, as Quaker Oats."

WITHDRAWALS FROM BASKETBALL LEAGUE

South China Refuse Petition for Stadium

(By "GUARD")

A BOMBSHELL was dropped by the "A" and "B" cagers of South China on Wednesday, on the occasion of the commencement of the basketball season. When their names were called for their matches, the captains of both teams announced their intention of withdrawing from the League, but declined to give any reasons.

No explanation was given until yesterday, when most of the Chinese newspapers publish- ed an open letter signed by the players in which were given their reasons for their with- drawal.

It appears that the basketballers wish to profit by South China's "fat" year to ask for a new stadium, the cost nl which was estimated at roughly $1,700, and have addressed petition to the Association, which petition was ignored.

Eastern have also withdrawn their team from the League. Their reason, it seems, is that most of their players are only temporarily transferred from their Shanghai offices and they may be called back at a moment's notice.

Junior Champions Will Try Once More

ONCE MORE, the present joint champions of the Junior Cricket League will endeavour to play-off to decide the sole winners of the Shield. The Police and the Indian R.Č. 2nd XI meet on Sunday on the latter's ground at 2 p.m.

Eastern will not then be able to put Warwick Farm H'cap

up a team.

LEAGUE DIVIDED

THE LEAGUE has been divided into two sections, First and Second Divisions. Matches will be played

t the Chinese Y.M.C.Aevery Wednesday and Saturday, the first and third being Second Division 6.15 and 8.15 p.m., and matches at the second will be of the First Divi- sion commencing at 7.15.

On Wednesday in the Second Division, Rainbow trounced Ching
