MONDAY MORNING COMMENTARY SOUTH CHINA A.A. DEFEAT THE REST

Opportunities Missed In First Half

Robinson Saves Penalty From Lee Wai-tong!

(By "Rox")

In their typical manner, South China defeated The Rest of the League two goals to one at Club ground yesterday, in a very even encounter. The Rest had the edge in the first half, but did not make the most of their opportunities, and the score was blank. In the second half, South China gained the upper hand, and managed two goals, the Rest replied once.

Robinson gained a distinction of which few custodians in the Colony can pride themselves. He saved a penalty from Lee Wai-tong! The Rest defence were superb, and

Tam Kwan-kon was in great | *********** form, and pulled off some ex- cellent saves. Several times he had to go full length, and on one occasion stopped a hard drive from Fowler from three yards' ringe.

Lee Tin-sang and Mak Shiu- hon played well together. Lee was better of the two, clearing strongly, and more accurately.

Leung Wing-chiu again gave an excellent performance ut pivot. He did not cover Fowler much, and was seen very little in defensive work, but fed his men with nice and ne- curate passes. Suong Ling-sing was again the best of the halves, and did much to nullify the good work of the Rest's left flank. Lau Tou-mun a peared uncomfortable, but managed to spoll quite effectively. He was seen better at attack.
