ANOTHER word about "Tony Draws a Horse", one of the most successful plays the Hongkong A.D.C. has pre- sented in many years,
The A.D.C. have "discovered" top-notch talent in several of the players who make their first bow to Ilongkong audiences in this production and, in view of the un- doubted success of "Tony Draws
Horse", it would be worth-while if the same cast could be used for another play later, this year.
Sunny Hole, who appears in an the first A.D.C. production for time, eastly tops the newcomers. James Whitham is another new- comer who shows promise of being 2 major acquisition. Olive Green's brief. characterisation "goofy" multiservant reveals talent that should be given wider scope. in future. Brief characterisations by San Pringle, Auguste Hoffmels- ter and J. M. X. Sheilah Mucicininy is by far the qutstanding member of the cast, and gives a delicious realism to the role that tops anything she has previously done in Hongkong. Claude Burgess as "Tim Shields" and J. Robertson as "Grandpa" both play difficult roles with con- summate skill, and add greatly to the laurels they have already gained in local amateur dramatics,
When the bouquets are handed over the footlights to-night there should be one for W. A. Cornell, who designed and devised scenery,

ALL our favourite film stars are leaving us. They are going back to hlatory, to fantasy. The way the work is going I can't suy I blame them. I'd like to go too.
Spencer Tracy is going to be Cyrano de Bergerac, the honest fellow with the long nose. He'll don feathered hat and grab his rapler and put on those tall, flop- .py boots (like women wear now-
adays).

FILM: "Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever" STARS: Mickey Rooney find the Hardy family
VERDICT: Up to Standard ·
IN this film Judge Hardy behaves with a gullibility that contrasts strangely with popu- lar conceptions of legal shrewdness. He allows financial sharks to get away with his hard- carned savings.
Andy, on whom Mickey Rooney has al- ready conferred fame and favour, allows his affections to be concentrated on his new drama ites teacher. His adolescent emotions receive some hard knocks, but the bruises are soothed by the plaudits showered upon him when he writes the annual school play, and performs a leading part with a dramatic fervour that quite overcomes such minor obstacles as the fact that he has to wear a uniform many sizes too big for him.
Altogether this firm is well up to the Hardy standard. Mickey Rooney is still his exuberant self.

FILM: "Tower of London” STARS: Basil Rathbone, Boris Karloff
VERDICT: Makes Your Spine Wiggle
A colourful and exciting drama of England in the age of Richard Crankbnek, built round the grim personality of the Public Execu tlouer at the Tower.
Romance and adventure are in- troduced into this film of the most troubled perlod in English history.
FILM: "The Housekeeper's Daughter"
STARS: Jaan Bennett, Adolphe Menjou
VERDICT: 50-50.
A gangster comedy of the popu lar type.
It deals with a girl who had been involved with gangstore but who returna to her mother, a homicide in which the gangsters are implicated, and the efforts of reporter philandering bibulous
and photographer and an amateur Journalist to solve the crime.
A deranged flower seller has much to do with the story.
