Dominion Pilots Help To Down Heinkel Plane Off Scottish Coast While

LONDON, Mar. 7.-Pilots from the FRANCE'S running completely around

Dominions helped to shoot down a German Heinkel bomber into the sea off the south-east coast of Scotland to-day.

Their exploit set the seal on yesterday as a day of triumph for Britain's airmen.

· Subsequently, the Air Ministry announced that:

1. The R.A.F. carried out the greatest survey flight of the war last night, visiting in turn Bremen, Hanover, Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven und Cuxhaven.

2-The British machines covered well over 10,000 miles, some of them in Arctic weather, but all returned safely.

cast

3. Spitfires, in addition to bringing down the Heinkel off Scotland, repulsed Nazi raiders off the coast of England in a thrilling duel which is exclusively described by eye-witnesses.

The men who flew over Germany were in the air almost all night. When the R.A.F. pilots returned, their machines untouched by anti-aircraft fre or the bullets of fighter planes, they reported flights that were almost boring because of their lack of excitement.

- Bremen "Reception" Only the planes that visited Bremen appear to have met with a warm reception.

The pilots who raided Cuxhaven reported that they evaded something like ty German searchlights which swept the skies searching for tehm. Anti-aircraft guns went into action at Bremen, where the R.A.F. men were greated with bursts of "aming onions-inked shrapnel which, if #

HELSINGFORS, Mar. 8 (UP)-Finland officially confirms the reception of

Russian demands.

An official statement is promised later.

I am informed that the Finnish Government regards the surrender of Hangoe as an impossible demand.

Russia, it is stated, has announced her intention of build- ing a naval base on the islands.

This would give her absolute control of the Gulf of Finland. "Hangoc would be just an opening wedge," I was told. "With Hangoe ceded, there would be other and more far- reaching demands in six months' time,
