KOWLOON C. C. Bright Shield Hopes: Army Surprise Indians At Sookunpoo
THE CIVIL SERVICE team have got a definite hoodoo on thom at prosont, and they really ought to do something about it. On Saturday last they were without Fortescue, who was ill, and Mc- Lollan, and, of course, this had to happen when they were playing the K.C.C., who are about the strongest side in the Colony.
As usual there were far too munny passengers in the side. Richardson only just got into double figures, but Colledge (20), Perry (27) and Hawkins (22) all did well. But the rest flopped and owing to a mis- Cruttwell bad understanding, failed to turn out. The result was the side was out for 118
runs,
Bring one short, the CS. had a coolie out, and, of course, was to him hot F, J. Lay put up a dolly catch a mid-on when only about ten runs had been scored. Down went, and the pair took the score to: GU before Hawkins caught Anderson at mid-off-in self defence, as somie und sald.
Then things altered. Perry strain- ed his back, and Fenton went on again while Whitley proceeded to bowl very well. Except for D. Hung.
