THOUSANDS of Lancashire people who have held on for 20 years

to cotton shares that were almost valueless are in luck.

These shareholders-some of them cotton operatives--have brought out the

scrip kept as souvenirs, now

that cotton is booming.

Fortunes are not being made yet, shares worth nothing a few weeks ago are becoming valuable.
