Condonation Denied

The King's Proctor had intervened to show cause why the decree nisi grunted to. Mrs. Wilmer, of Cheyne Row, Chelsen, on the ground of the adultery of her hsuband should no! be made absolute.

Wilmer, who in January last year

was sentenced to five years penal

servitude, did not defend the petition. In granting the decree, Mr. Justice Henn Collins had exercised his dis- cretion in Mrs. Wilmer's favour in respect of adultery which he ad- mitted with Mr. Patrick Henify Nocl Gamble.

The King's Proctor now alleged that Mrs. Wilmer had presented a false case, as she did not fully dis- close her own adultery, and had condoned her husband's adultery by living with hi

at as his wife Henley-on-Thames.

She again asked the Court to exercise its discretlers, but denied the King's Proctor's allegation of con- donation.

Mr. Gamble Intervened.
