NEW KHALSA Recreio Deservedly Beat!
Nomads: R. Engineers' Test On Sunday Next
THERE WERE NO WOMEN'S league games last Saturday, but in a friendly played at the Y.M.C.A. ground, the "Y" Ladies gained an easy victory over the C.B.A. Ladies by five goals to one, The home team included four reserves in their! line-up, and had the forwards taken their chances the score would have been doubled.
In a Tournament game last Sunday, Recreio beat the Nomads 2-0 on their home ground. On the same day the new Khalsa Sikh team was seen in action when they beat the C.B.A. 1-0.
Mrs. Gardner and Miss B. Harker, in the "Y" attack, com- bined cleverly, and Mrs. Burnett but in some good runs on the! right wing. Mrs. Strange and Mrs. Stone, as usual, shared the bulk of the "Y" defence, but Miss Stokes, as pivot, also gave a useful display: with
more experience she gives every promise of making a good half-bark: Better team work was seen in the second tair than In the Arst.
Playing without a goal-kerper, the CB.A. defence had a gruelling time in the second half, and Miss Parsons, the side as a kicking back, saved from a heavy defeat. However, the defence with Mk 1. Woolley. Miss P. Everest and Mrs. Wilmott, fought quely up to the final whistle, and uty good movements by the "y" forwards were broken up.
Mrs. M. White, who has only just returned from a holiday in England, revealed fine stick-work at centre- forward, and was the only live-wire in the visitors attack. Mrs. Quick, the inside-left, worked hard but her passing was weak, Mrs; White will certainly be of great value do lender of the attack, but the C.B.A. are still
in need of a goal-keeper,
