Charged with causing malicious damage to a motor car belonging to Mr. L. M. Wylie, of the Hongkong Land Shanghai. Bank, and with being drunk and disorderly in Gloucester Rond, Wanchal, on Christmas Day, Able-seaman Robert Leslie Gibbs, 25, of HMS. Scout, appeared before Mr. Forrest at the Central Magistracy yesterday. He denied both counts. Sgt. Dingsdale, of Wanchal, said he saw Gibbs standing beside a cor with a hammer in his hand.

Chan Kan-kau, mechanie, said he and his colleagues were engaged In changing a wheel of the car out- side a garage when Gibbs attempted to strike them. Fearing him, the mechanics fled. Gibbs kicked at one of the car's doors, breaking it, and pulled out a pane of glass, breaking Jit.
