Nell Gwynne Relics For Sale

THE receipt for the garters which encircled the limbs which enchanted a King-it sounds like the House that Jack Bullt, but it is actually a lot in the sale Sotheby's held on December 20 of the Crofton Croker Collection of Nell Gwynne relics.

Many of the Jols are pictures of the great courtesan, Several show Ne!! with a lamb, some with her children.

There were also pictures of Nell'e zivalo in the affections of the King- Barbara Villiers Custlemaine, Duchess of Cleveland (spelled Cleveland) and Louise (spelled Louize) de Qaeroualle, "Dutches of Pol mouth.

£5,000 PENSION

The rest of the collection consiste of documents: a warrant to pay Nell ne quarter's pension-£1,250-le drew £5,000# year-signed by 250 Clarendon; a warrant to pay

to her out of excise money; a recent made out to her for a miniature of Charles In Bigned and recoipled by

her; bills for elothes, for a Sedan chale, & bed and other furniture; a receipt for £10 for afratirganel gliding her charlot; and, of couse, the receipt for the 12. pair of tel embroidered garters.
