CLOSE OF THE CURRENT

Confusion Bay Should Win The Hongkong Autumn Champions

THE HONGKONG JOCKEY CLUB will tor- minate their racing season to-morrow when the Thirteenth Extra Race Mooting will be staged. The first saddling bell will be rung at the usual time 1.30 p.m. sharp. There are the usual eight interesting events on the programme, including three Autumn Champions over one and a quarter miles, confined to old China ponies, subscription griffins of this year, and the Australian ponies of any season.

After this meeting there will be no more flat racing at Happy Valley until Spring. These, who have gone down in the sink, will undoubtedly have to exert a little of that golden gift of patience until the Annual Race Meet- ing, when the handicap contests are thrown into the shade, and money will then be much easier to pick up.

Difficult Conditions At Kowloon City

CONDITIONS were far from ideal for the shooting of the Overseas 303 full range Postal Match at Kow- loon City on Wednesday. The wind was variable and tricky though the light remained good, and it was probably this that accounted for the comparatively low scores at 300 yards. Both teams improved at 500 yards, and the aperture sights team scored more at 600 than at 300 yards.
