Reshuffle Of Commands

Announced

Tokyo, Dec. 1. Far-reaching personnel changes in the Army both at home and abroad are announced by the War Office to day.

Lieut-General Jitsujo Ushijima has been appointed Commander-in- Chief of the Formosan Garrison, while Lieut-General Shira Inaba has been named Commander-in-Chief of the East Japan Defence Head- quarters.

Lieut.-General Selza! Honda has been appointed Vice-Chief-of-Staff of the Japanese Expeditionary Forces to China and Lieut-General Sucichiro Higuclu has been oppointed Com- mander of the Ninth Division,

Other important appointments in- clude Lieut-General Ichiryo Banzai as the chief of the Army Infantry School; Major-General Kenya Muda- guchi as the chief of the preparatory school of the Military Academy; Major-General Otosaburo Yano as the Commander of the Chinkal Forti- Ecation; L-Col. Shulchi Tatsumura ng the chief of the Army Press Bureau of the Imperial Headquarters.

Newly-appointed Military Attaches abroad Include Major-General 'Saburo Isoda at. Washington, Col. Seifuku Okamoto at Berlin, Flight Colonel Shigno Fujizuka ot Bucharest, Col. Elich! Tatsumi at London, and Col. Seimei Shimizu at Rome.

Naval Appointments

In connection with the opening of the Malzuru Naval Station andʻ new naval air corps at Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture, the Navy Office to-day has announced Import- ant personnel changes in the Navy. Vice-Admiral Goro Hara has been appointed Commander of the new Naval Station Maizuru and Rear- Admiral Kiyohide Shima Chief-of- Staff at the Station.

Rear-Admiral Kokichi Terada has been appointed commandant of the 12th Combined Air Corps. Among other important appointments are Rear-Admiral Seigo Yamagata, Chief of General Affairs at the Naval Air Force Headquarters: Captain Shiel Sugimoto, commandant of the newly- Inabaval

corps at Captain Keikichi Araki, commandant of the Yalabe Naval Air Corps; Captain Shinnosuke Mune- yuki, commandant of the Hyakuri- hara Naval Air Corps.
