COUNTY CRICKET POSSIBILITIES

Undergraduates' Good

Show

Indians Against At Sookunpoo

THE STATEMENT that it is hoped to run some modified form of County Cricket next season is one that will come as a pleasant surprise to most cricketers out here. Of course we recognise only too well that it is at present nothing more than ́a hope, and, I fear, a somewhat faint one. There will no doubt be plenty of good cricketers in England for everyone does not go to France.

To my mind the great difficulty will be transport. In big Military centres there will no doubt be the material for some excellent teams, who will be probably well above second class county standard, and I suppose that even in wartime a two-day fixture might be possible. But once one starts trying, to take a team from A to B. difficulties arise.

A general view after the paddock parade, with some of the pontes leaving for the field in the Castle Feat Handicap, second section.

Tribute (Mr. P.P. Botelho up) is leading, with Lancashire Chap (Mr. Y. T. Fung) and Sports Venture (Mr. H. J. A. Hlearne) in the rear,

None of these was placed, the race being won by Wilbur, will l'hoenix and Matador second and third-Rome Photos,
