REFUGEES

Movement Started To Calcutta

Get $1,000,000 Fund

Shanghai, Nov. 16. Shanghai will always have at least 10,000 Chinese destitutes, relying en- tirely on charity.

This is the view of officials of the Shanghai Refugee Relief Association, who have just started a movement to raise $1,000,000 as a reserve fund to aid the city's homeless-most of them war refugees,

All possible efforts ore being made to disperse these refugees by sending them to obtain employment. But there are nearly 40,000 needing aid, and more continue to arrive almost daily.
