LONDON, Nov. 16 (UP). -"Developments during the past fortnight have apprec- ciably strengthened the position of the Allies," said Sir John Simon, who deputised for the Premier in the House of Commons to-day.
"This is particularly the case with reference to American. legislation, which has restored to us the right to purchase-the- abundant supplica the United States is able to offer."
Speaking on behalf of both Britain and France, Sir John repudiated responsibility for the breakdown of the Belgo-Dutch peace efforts.
