EXPERIMENTS WITH CORNER RULE

Colony Clubs Should Give Trials To New Hockey Suggestion

AT A MEETING of the International Board in 1937, when a discussion ensued on the corner rule, a recommendation went forth to the four British governing bodies that further playing ex- periments should be undertaken with a view to adopting a practical schome which would have the main support of the playing community.

Several suggestions were put forward, and the follow- ing proposal came from an Indian player:

"As a rule, the penalty hit should be takon ten yards from the post nearest the striker, and it is always found advantageous

for the opponents to take the hit from the left.

THE Aral Ave players from the left nhould stand some one or two feet behind the goal-line, pre- pared for the rush. The centre-half! should go alow as to follow and cover hla forwards, and see where the ball is received. The left back, goalkeeper and right back, while standing in the goal, should be ready to face the hit.
