A Great Success

The annual Al Fresco Fete of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was held on the vacant ground opposita The Peninsula Hotel, Kowloon, yes terday.

The Vicar Apostolle (Bishop I Valtorta) declared the Fete open, Ho was received by the Rev. Fr. T. Ryan. B.J., acting Chairman of the Bazaar Committee,

Bishop Valtorta, in a briet speech, reminded the people that the Bazaar was in aid of charity, and appealed to all to spend liberally. They wore sorry that Mr. H. Dixon, their Chair- mari, was unable to be with them be- chuse of illness, but the result of the Fete would, the Bishop felt sure, go a long way towards improving his

health.

The grounds, which were gally decorated, and lined with stalls and aido-shows on all sides, were Allea with large crowd long before 'the opening ceremony, and hundreds mote were admitted na the afternoon and evening wore on.
