LEE-GARCIA
Bewildering Situation of World Middleweight Boxing Championship
(By "Tinker")
MANILA sportsmon are all agog over the preparations by Josse Cortes to promote a middle- weight bout in Manila between Coforino Garcia and Glenn Loe, outstanding contondor for the world_middleweight title, which, as some con- tond, Garcia holds. The match has boon fixed for December 16 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
I have purposely refrained from referring to the fight as a "championship bout" because there appear to be three voices in the matter. First and, perhaps foremost, is that of the National Boxing Association of America, which controls the boxing in nearly all the States. They refuse recognition of the Garcia-Lee fight as for the title, as they do not hold Garcia to be champion. Their choice is Al Hostak, and they are willing to consider a bout between Garcia and Hostak as for the title.
SECOND in the matter is the world-famed promoter, Mike Jacobs, who holds a contract with Garcin, and who, therefore, has sole right to arrange his championship fights. Third is Cortes, who, in advertising the fight as for the championship of the world, indicates that he has arrived at some arrange- ment with Jacobs.
What it all balls down to, then, is that the NB.A. of America and the Jacobs-Cortes combination do not see eye-to-eye.

Changes Made In Club And Army Fifteens For This Afternoon's Match
(By "Fly-half")
ON THE Club ground at Happy Valley this afternoon two games of rugby will be played. The first one at 3.15 p.m. will be contested by Nayy "A" and Club "A" and the second at 4.39 p.m. between the Army and Club...
BOTH Army and Club show changes from the teams which mot last week-end. Army are atil experimenting and much; attention will be paid to the play of Smith, who performed with credit last Saturday on the Army wing in opposition to Bosanquet. This week he is given the scrum- half berth, a position which should suit him, provided he can pass quickly and accurately.
Lang, Inst week's scrum-halt, gors to full back, where he should feel comfortable, possessing as he does a safe pair of hands and a strong accurate kick, acquired from lis previous soccer training.
Lomax, who sustained a nasty gosh under his eye while playing at full- back, will be out of the game for several weeks,
March, presumably on his perform- ance against the Polico last Tuesday, when he held Taylor, Polles lofty wing three, has been given Smith's place on the wing and should not find himself outshone by Bosanquel this afternoon.
