WARNING TO JAPAN Mr. Grew's Speech Impresses

LONDON, Oct. 20 (Reuter). -The speech by Mr. Joseph Grow, American Ambassador to Tokyo, in which he clearly stated Japanese-American rela- tions, and said that the United States was determined to uphold her long-caablished rights in China, was commented upon by Mr. Quo Tai-chi, the Chinese Ambassador to London, when interviewed by "Reuter" to-day.

Mr. Quo Tai-chi declared: "Mr. Grew had performed an act of real friendship to the Japanese people. Like the Gernians, they are never allowed to know the truth. This speech, Lacked as it is by Washing- ton's approval, should awaken them from a fool's paradise."

Qmcial eircles in London withhold comment pending an expected report from Sir Robert Craigle, but numit that if the speech is correctly report- ed, it is an event of the Arst import- ance.
